A little over one year ago, the Singapore-based ASMPT Group, the market leader for backend solutions in electronics production, acquired the SIPLACE team and turned it into an integrated business unit operating as ASM Assembly Systems. The SIPLACE DX placement platform: Optimum performance for the price
The new SIPLACE DX is a prime example of how customers will be able to benefit from the pairing of German engineering and Asian efficiency in the future. It was designed especially to meet the needs of Asian electronics plants. While its compact design with component tables reduce the purchase price and the cost of ownership, the superior pickup concepts of the SIPLACE high-performance heads, intelligent SIPLACE X-feeder, high-precision linear drives on all axes and state-of-the-art software ensure the highest placement performance.
As a result, the SIPLACE DX4 delivers a maximum speed of 135,000 cph. Even based on the IPC standard, the SIPLACE DX4’s derating is very low with its top speed of 110,000 cph – including for the high-volume placement of 01005 components. SIPLACE software optimizes the productivity of lines and processes
The software provided by equipment manufacturers is becoming an increasingly critical factor for productivity improvements. To demonstrate their technological leadership in this field, the SIPLACE technicians will also demonstrate many new software features in the SIPLACE Challenge Arena at the 2012 Nepcon show as well.
With the SIPLACE Alternative Components function, for example, users can now define multiple component versions for the same placement position. When the production switches to such second-source components, the machine recognizes this automatically and adapts instantly. With SIPLACE LED Pairing, users can efficiently automate their brightness class management, because the multitude of approved LED-resistor components can now be easily entered and administered in the placement program in the form of a list. The system reliably recognizes any permitted combination and places the appropriate components with no need for manual interference.
The SIPLACE SmartGUI provides a simple, easy-to-use operating interface that quickly localizes and identifies malfunctions on the line. Based on this data, it then plays step-by-step troubleshooting steps in the form of user-friendly videos. As a result, problems can be fixed much more quickly and reliably – even with less experienced personnel.
