New SIPLACE placement platform
Field test at Kaifa Technology
ASM Assembly Systems (formerly Siemens Electronic Assembly Systems) has performed a field-testing with its new SIPLACE DX placement machine platform. To focus on specific user requirements, the SIPLACE team worked from the very start of the design and development process with companies like Kaifa Technology in Shenzhen, China, and continues this cooperation now with extensive field tests to fine-tune the new platform. After the completed field tests the SIPLACE DX was presented to selected companies from March 2011 and subsequently rolled out in stages in the regional SIPLACE clusters.
Placement machine development "made in Germany" in close cooperation with customers and partners all over the world – an approach for which the SIPLACE team has been known for a long time. As it prepares to launch its SIPLACE DX platform, the company is taking the same proven approach that worked so well when it prepared the successful SIPLACE SX together with its customers BMK and Zollner in Germany.
In January 2011, two SIPLACE DX machines were installed at Chinese leading electronics manufacturer Shenzhen Kaifa Technology. As an EMS provider, Kaifa Technology produces hard disks, memory sticks, mobile phones, USB sticks, mother board, power meters, Set Top boxes, fiscal cash registers, and other electronic products for many international customers at two locations in China, making it an ideal candidate to put the SIPLACE DX through its paces under the watchful eye of SIPLACE developers. Both companies want to use this field test to further intensify their existing technology partnership for mutual benefit.
Field tests like this one enable the SIPLACE developers to test the many innovations in the SIPLACE DX under real-life conditions. "When we developed the specifications for the SIPLACE DX, we paid special attention to the needs of our Asian customers from the very start. With its compact dimensions and robust construction, the machine is designed for maximum productivity and an exceptional price-performance ratio. Efficiency through intelligence
The SIPLACE team is paying special attention to the completely redesigned user interface during the field test. The innovative Smart GUI (graphical user interface) includes a Video Assistant which visualizes the most important processes step-by-step for the operating staff in order to reduce errors and minimise production interruptions.
The SIPLACE DX also features high real performance on a very small footprint. With its innovative setup concepts and its support for new product introductions directly at the machine, the new SIPLACE platform delivers a level of flexibility that is unprecedented in this segment.
