The SMT industry is growing again, albeit with significant regional differences. While China managed to reverse the downward trend already at the end of 2008, the downturn continued in Europe through the winter quarter of 2009. Finally, though, sales and new order bookings are on the rise again here, too. In the following interview, Stephanie Pepersack, who is in charge of market intelligence on the SIPLACE team, presents an increasingly positive picture of the global SMT industry.
