Setting up components twice and reducing the need for splicing with Get Flash to see this player. Matthäus Sigl, Production Manager SMT SIPLACE Challenge “Regular production runs require lots of splicing. If the reels are small, it may even happen that the line operator cannot keep up, and the machine stops. For cases like these it would be nice to be able to set up components twice on the machine.” Our challenge: Can the SIPLACE team set up a component twice without requiring another program download? SIPLACE Solution With the Alternative Track function, you can set up alternative components for tracks that are about to run empty without having to define these in advance in SIPLACE Pro. You can then set up the spare component supply on any available track, and the system automatically switches over to this track when the primary track runs empty. This reduces and in some cases completely eliminates the need for splicing. |
