SIPLACE Challenge

 

“Manufacturing involves technical as well as personnel-related challenges. Occasionally you need additional staff for an SMT line – an operator may have become ill, or customers are placing unusually large orders. In such cases, we first try to fill the gap with untrained personnel. The question is therefore: How can I deploy these people quickly and efficiently at a placement machine?”

 

Our challenge: Can the SIPLACE team instruct even an inexperienced worker to fix a tape break within three minutes or less?

 
 

SIPLACE Solution

 

Untrained personnel is never the best solution, but the SIPLACE Smart GUI provides support even for untrained temps. It localizes and displays the source of the trouble. In over 90 percent of malfunctions, users see a clear analysis of the error. The system then uses animated instructions to show how to fix the error. This eliminates the need for specialists in most cases – even when temps are working on the line.
