SIPLACE LES:
Maximum flexibility, minimum setup effort

In the current challenging production environment, the numbers of products mixes and products changeover rises. With the number of product changeovers rises, so do your setup efforts, leading to less machine availability and line efficiency. In high-mix environments, setup changeovers quickly become a critical factor for productivity and costs.

With SIPLACE LES, you can optimize the setup sequence and manage setup changeovers even for the smallest lots sizes of up to one without stopping your production in most cases.

To accomplish this, SIPLACE LES have optimized the entire process – from detailed production planning to the machine setup. SIPLACE LES also takes full advantage of the intelligence built into our state-of-the-art SIPLACE X-Series machines.

Optimized Production Sequencing:

SIPLACE LES schedules the production sequence with setup optimization based on your customers’ deliver deadlines in mind. New jobs can be easily inserted into existing sequences, because the system figures out the insertion point that minimizes your setup effort and disruption to the existing production schedule.

Task Visualization and Notification:

What materials must be withdrawn from storage? What setups are pending? SIPLACE LES visually notifies the respective personnel such as warehouse, setup operators and line operators early that everything will be ready with time to spare to cut down on last-minute rushes.

Active Feeder Pool:

SIPLACE LES fully maps and manages your pre-setup area, which functions as a buffer. Here and on the line, the intelligent X feeders signal via LEDs whether they can be dismounted or whether the components will still be needed for one of the following setups. This approach reduced the additional manpower needed and unnecessary movement of material from production line to warehouse and back to production line again.

On-the-fly Changeovers:

SIPLACE X feeders can be changed “on the fly” while the machine continues to place components, thus there is no disruption to the machine productivity times.

Random Setup:

In high-mix environments with small lot sizes, the position of components and feeders on the machine has a relatively minor impact on your overall productivity. That’s why SIPLACE LES allow the operators to place X feeders for new setups anywhere on the table, as the SIPLACE X-series machines recognize each feeder and its components based on its ID and respond accordingly.
