Fixed Setup

In some cases the most efficient setup changeover strategy is to have no setup changeovers at all. The prime example is a factory which handles lot sizes far in excess of 1,000 units and has to change the setup only once in a while. Under such circumstances, considering a single fixed setup for a product family still makes sense.

With no setup changeovers, the placement time (net cycle time) becomes the efficiency-determining factor. The SIPLACE Pro Optimizer is able to analyze up to 1,000 different products for shared components and compute the best setup for the respective line configuration.
